Moussas & Partners hosts the Legalink General Meeting in Athens, Greece

17.06.25

From 29 to 31 May our Firm was delighted to host the Spring 2025 General Meeting of the Legalink Global Netwok of Independent Firms in Athens. Legalink is an international legal Network of over 60 independent business-oriented law firms with members from the majority of the world’s main commercial centres. The Network is Chambers ranked and now comprises more than 4000 legal professionals

This year’s meeting welcomed over 80 delegates from 51 firms, representing more than 40 legal jurisdictions. Participants engaged in insightful discussions on global legal and business trends, fostering invaluable connections that strengthen the Legalink network.

We were honored to have as our keynote speaker, Mr. Evangelos Venizelos, former Deputy Prime Minister of Greece & Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prof. Emeritus, Aristotle Univ. of Thessaloniki. Mr. Venizelos provided compelling insights on how the Greek financial crisis turned into a successful recovery and the lessons learned not only for Greece but also for Europe.

The agenda also featured other distinguished speakers, including Dr. Marinos Giannopoulos, CEO of Enterprise Greece, who outlined key investment opportunities in Greece, and Spyridoula Megalokonomou (Metlen Energy & Metals) with Mafalda Mascarenhas Garcia (IBM), who contributed to the Women in Law session, highlighting the importance of diversity in the legal profession.

Christopher Trowbridge, Legalink Chairman, moderated a panel on Foreign Direct Investment, featuring insights from panelists from different jurisdictions painting a compelling picture of the complexities — and opportunities — that lie ahead for cross-border investment.

The Managing Partner of our Firm, Nicholas Moussas, led an engaging session on Mediation as an Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanism by bringing deep legal insight but also a practical perspective to the session. He offered an overview of the legal framework and shared references to legislative frameworks from other jurisdictions, offering useful comparative perspectives.

The event concluded with thought-provoking discussions on the role of AI in the legal sector, with Florian Polak (tucan.ai) shedding light on its transformative potential.

The success of the meeting was marked by the active participation of Legalink members, creating a dynamic platform for global legal exchange and collaboration.

Christopher Trowbridge, Legalink Chairman, alongside Committee members Sonia Abraham, Göran Andersson, and Alejandro Ripoll, played a key role in shaping the success of the event. Their contributions, along with the insights shared by all Legalink members who participated, reinforced the value of meaningful global dialogue within the network. An engaged audience made this meeting a truly dynamic exchange of views, strengthening professional ties and fostering deeper international collaboration.

Moussas & Partners is honored to have hosted this prestigious gathering, reinforcing Legalink’s mission to cultivate strong, global partnerships in the legal industry.
