Partner Loukia Papachatzi attended Legalink’s Fall General Meeting in Dallas, Texas on October 30th – November 1st, warmly hosted by Bell Nunnally & Martin LLP. The General Meeting featured a series of provocative sessions and, of course, lots of catching up with our dear colleagues from around the world.

The meeting opened with the Sports Law Seminar “Scoring Goals, Managing Risk: Legal, Business & Media Challenges in the Global Sports Arena, exploring the intersection of law, business, and sport. Insightful discussions from leaders such as Jason Cohen, General Counsel of the Dallas Cowboys, and Gina Miller, VP of Broadcasting, Media & Communications for FC Dallas, shed light on leadership, compliance, and the evolving role of media in modern sports. A dynamic panel moderated by Christopher Trowbridge (Managing Partner at Bell Nunnally & Martin LLP) examined governance, sponsorships, and cross-border regulation, followed by FC Dallas President Dan Hunt, who shared an inspiring vision for the city’s role in the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The second day brought a shift in focus to global trade and diplomacy, featuring an inspiring conversation with Ambassador Ronald Kirk, former U.S. Trade Representative and Mayor of Dallas, who reflected on leadership and international cooperation. Olga Torres, Founder of Torres Trade Law, delivered a thought-provoking presentation on U.S. trade and national security policy, while a global panel on “The Future of International Trade: What’s Next?” explored how evolving national priorities and economic pressures are reshaping the landscape of international commerce.

The final day of the meeting inspired delegates to reflect on leadership and purpose. Curtis Hite, CEO of Improving and board member of Conscious Capitalism, Inc., led an engaging discussion on “The Evolution of American Capitalism to Conscious Capitalism: Trust Changes Everything,” while Talmage Boston, attorney, author, and presidential historian, closed the event with “Lincoln: The Lawyer Who Held a Nation Together”, a powerful reminder of integrity and humility in leadership.

Delegates also enjoyed a private tour of the AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, and experienced Dallas’ charm through visits to the Dallas Arboretum and Fort Worth, immersing themselves in the cowboy and Western spirit of Texas.

A heartfelt thank you to Chris Trowbridge for the authentic Texan experience, the Organizing Committee, and Maria de Sá Nogueira and Kamle Hassian for the impeccable planning and warm hospitality that made this General Meeting truly unique once again.
